In XY and ORAS, breeding a female Pokémon will cause the offspring to hatch in whatever ball the female has (unless it's a Master or Cherish Ball, in which case they'll hatch in a regular Poké Ball). In SM, male and genderless Pokémon can also pass down their balls if bred with Ditto.

Daycare is early-ish on the second island, has an up-down path, Stoutland runs faster than charging Tauros without using B, and you get it right before running into the daycare, so it's probably intended as the new bike.

I haven't tried breeding yet, as half the road is blocked for story reasons.

Why don't they just let us choose what ball we want them in? Like, just make a PC option that lets you switch a current Pokemon's ball with one in your bag.
