Honestly, dumbing down the games is a bad move on GF's part. They're losing the older age groups, yet the games still fail to appeal to younger age groups. They need to pick one demographic, and that's that.

Personally, I'd love to see Yokai Watch become the "Pokemon-like game for kids", while Pokemon goes back to appealing to the older audience. I'm not saying put blood and guts in the games; but allowing a difficulty/veteran mode and sustaining post-game content is vital.

it's in the center of the second island, it has a wild west theme. there appear to be other buildings, they even have doors, but they have decking that you can't step on to. It's ridiculous

The overworld as a whole isn't incredible to be honest. Routes are short and very linear and a lot of it looks very similar.
And that's not talking about all the weird, annoying forced camera angles. I'm not too impressed with this game so far.

I've only played till I got my starter but i'm loving how gamefreak is somewhat accurately portraying Hawaii. Paniolo(o instead of a) was what we called our cowboys back then and even now I suppose. Heck even the malasadas reference at your starting home surprised me.

More specifically a better set of programmers. They have a lot of good ideas and designers but their fucking programmer team is amateur as hell.

Yokai Watch looks just as good as SM, has camera control, 3D and it doesn't lag at all.
