I agree with every single thing you said. It's also easier that gen 6 if you're not using the exp share.

But I'm still kind of managing to have fun. At the end of the day, I just enjoy pokemon. I think the new Amie system is pretty good. Lillie is cute. Music is nice. Some of the characters are fun.

Gen 5 exp scaling is back. It's harder to get over-leveled with the exp share on, but also harder to get under-leveled with the exp share off.

No matter what you do in Sun and Moon you always stay pretty close to the level curve.

Gen 6 no exp share > gen 7 no exp share > gen 7 exp share > gen 6 exp share

Gen 6 has an easier easy mode and a harder hard mode, basically.

I've only seen the first hour or so in a let's play, but holy fuck this game is scripted to death. There's a cutscene every fucking 30 seconds ffs.
It's like the writers didn't know how to write for a game and were writing a Pokemon movie or something. For a game that should be about exploration, this is the worst possible direction it could be heading. I'd much prefer if they went the zelda route and went back to their open-worldish roots.
