I do wish Game Freak would stop making starters so mediocre in battle. They don't have to be Greninja-tier good, but making them halfway decent won't hurt anything.

I always pick the water starter
Though this will be the 1st gen where I actually ditch the starter. If Lapras or Sharpedo become free surf slaves that don't take up a slot in my party then I literally have no reason to pick the seal.
