STAB Priority on 90 BP is ridiculously good, even if you can only use it on its first turn.

what the fug
>>
>>29774008
I'd say something along the lines of
>Leech Life
>Liquidation / Aqua Jet
>Aqua Jet / First Impression
>Rock Slide

With Rock Slide, Golisopod is resisted by only 5 Pokémon (counting alternate forms as separate), and does SE damage to 419. Plus, I'd be wary of going to heavy into priority with all of the anti-priority options this gen.
>>
>>29774292
>using Aqua Jet over First Impression
>using Rock Slide when it could get run over by Fairies without Poison Jab
>>
>>29774212
>>29774239
What's worth remembering is that this move won't just come out once. You'll get to use it again after you've swapped back into Golisopod later in the game. It could be a free cleanup kill in all honesty.
>>
>>29774008

You LITEREALLY will not be able to use anything that's not priority, because he's so slow, once he's below 50%, the enemy can juggle you out as soon as you try to attack.

Unless you are up against a pokemon slower than 40

Shitter here, just a thought.

Mimikyu @ leftovers
EVs: 252 HP/252 Attack
Impish Nature
-Sword Dance
-Play Rough
-Leech Life
-Destiny Bond

Not really sure on the last slot, probably a better alternative to DB. Thoughts?
>>
>>29774329
I left choice of priority up to personal preference; First Impression is great, but I want to run a slower Golisopod that's less reliant on priority. And you don't need Poison Jab when you have powerful physical STAB that hits them neutrally in the form of Liquidation.

But hey, to each their own.
>>
>>29774389
Fuck meant Adamant, don't know why I said impish.

Without Poison Jab it can do absolutely nothing to Tapu Fini.
>>
>>29774386
I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. I'm almost positive you have to be above 50% in the first place for his ability to trigger. And with that being the case, you could easily come in on a good pivot with below 50% HP, land a Leech Life to get back up, then proc a switch with your ability.
>>
>>29774389
Replace Destiny Bond with Shadow Sneak. It's a natural fit on a Swords Dance set.

I can't come up with more team members. Maybe Latios and Landorus-T?

I had this idea for a dumb gimmick set:

Mimikyu @ Focus Sash
252 Attack/252 Speed
-Swords Dance
-Shadow Sneak
-Play Rough
-Baton Pass/Coverage Move

Basically, you get 2 FREE swords dances thanks to its ability and sash, and hope you can outspeed anything that shadow sneak won't kill

>>29774541
Excuse my ignorance but was baton pass confirmed for mimikyu? If so is it a tm or level up?
>>

I'm probably going to go Bulk Up, Will-O-Wisp, Leech Life and Shadow Claw or something.

Definitely something with Ground and/or Electric coverage, as the only things that resist that trio's STAB are Tentacool, Tentacruel, Qwilfish, Empoleon, and Skrelp.

I'm thinking Krookodile might see more use now that Power Trip is a thing, and we'll most likely be limited to things available in Alola for some time.

Looks good to me, though honestly I'd run +Atk nature and 108 Speed Ev's. Gives you just enough to outrun Sand Rush Excadrill after a Shell Smash and the freedom to invest in whatever else. Not that it helps that much, but there's absolutely no reason you need to be faster than that.
>>
>>29775174

Nah, don't run fly. The free turns are nice but that set is shut down completely by Ferrothorn and to a lesser extent, Amoonguss and other Grass/Poison types. Celesteela gets Flamethrower so, that might be the better option.

Tsareena @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Queenly Majesty/leaf guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
Jolly / Adamant Nature

High Jump Kick
Play Rough
U-Turn
Trop Kick/Return

Really Tsareena is only fucked over by its speed, but with choice scarf and u-turn it might actually be able to put in some work. Its move-pool has just enough variety to work; play rough was the saving grace here. Leaf Guard I see being useful to avoid burns as well.

It also gets acrobatics so some berry shenanigans might be possible.

Also rapid spin? So maybe a spinner set?

>>
>>29775630

Shit, I forgot that was a thing now. We also don't know if anything other than Sandslash-A gets Slush Rush, so that might be something. In that case, it'll have to be Timid with 176 EV's in speed. It feels weird to run a positive nature and not fully invest, but at a certain point it's just redundant.
>>
>>29775193
Why not neglect Speed EVs altogether and invest in HP? It gives it more time to set up (and Shell Smash raises Speed anyway). With its 60/100/100 defenses it's somewhat bulky, so you might as well take advantage of that.
>>
>>29774008
Golisopod @ Life Orb
Ability: Whateverthenameis
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature

- First Impression

Could also swap HP for 252 Speed and a Jolly nature, it might be better

I don't know if this works, but if Golisopod switches in twice to rocks whilst on an odd number of HP and uses First Impression, can the life orb recoil switch him right back out again and become a continuous cycle of First Impressioning out?
>>
What's vp's opinion on Pollen Puff? Ribombee is crazy fast (base 124), and Pollen Puff is a Bug STAB and also a healing move depending on who you use it on. I think it could see some use in Doubles. Seems very versatile.

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Merciless
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Baneful Bunker
- Liquidation
- Recover

The basic idea behind this set is that Toxapex has enough defenses as it is. By pumping points into HP, both are enhanced further. By making it Adamant and pumping points into Atk, it'll hit much harder than expected.

Toxic Spikes are a must. Toxapex has enough defense to almost certainly get out two layers before needing to Recover. Baneful Bunker effectively just acts like Protect, giving an additional turn for poison to take its toll and for Black Sludge to heal. It can also be used to poison flying or levitating targets that may have switched in over Toxic Spikes, or targets that were in before Toxic Spikes were out. Recover speaks for itself.

I chose Liquidation for two reasons. One is that it's a hard-hitting STAB, and with a guaranteed crit through Merciless, it should be able to do at least decent damage to most targets. The second is the fact that it can lower enemy Defense, which can not only assist with the kill, but also force a weakened opponent to switch out, throwing another Pokémon into the Toxic Spikes.
>>
>>29777306
I think this is a good set and a good mon, but I don't see it being higher than UU or RU. Tentacruel does almost exactly the same role and has more flexibility due to its wider movepool, as well as being able to outspeed many ground types (e.g. CB Krookodile) that would would outright annihilate Toxipex
>>
>>29777442
>Regenerator
>Recover
>Ridiculous Bulk

it's OU material
>>
>>29777442
But Toxapex has better defensive stats. Could that not allow it to act just as proficiently as Tentacruel? After all, its Baneful Bunker + Recover toxic stall is pretty good.
>>
>>29777442
difference is that Tentacruel has tons of special bulk, while Toxapex can tank both physical and special.
>>
Is there any way to make vikavolt not shit? At least good enough for UU?
>>
>>29777442
Tentacruel doesn't have a reliable way to recover.

Imagine if he did.

That's Toxapex.
>>
>>29777488
no i think the main difference is that tentacruel has 0 reliable recovery, toxapex is going to last so much longer in any team purely based on the fact that it has recover/regenerator
>>
>>29777442
>(e.g. CB Krookodile)
CB Krook OHKOs both of them, Toxapex can even take an EQ if invested, and even if Tentacruel outspeeds it can't really do much back to it.
Tentacruel will probably still be somewhat used due to spinning though, but in OU I'd imagine Toxapex paired with something like Excadrill will be more popular.

1/8th every turn wears things the fuck down.

But yeah, Baneful Bunker should be used with Regenerator, not Merciless. And to be honest, Merciless shouldn't be used anyways.
>>
>>29777662
Scald is 60-70% to uninvested Krookodile, so you're either betting on the burn or Hydro Pump to hit. I'd rather just switch into a proper counter.

>>29777752
Not a bad idea, though you either need two Bug/Electrics or a shitmon on your team.
With the fall of brabest birb, it has some potential, but is still outsped by invested base 90s.
>>
>>29777734
Sorry anon.

It's usable attack movepool consists of Bug Buzz, Energy Ball, Volt-Switch / T-Bolt, and Flash Cannon. It technically gets Air Slash, but that's even more shit.

It gets fucking T-Wave, Substitute, and Agility for Support moves.

Agility may have mattered if it had a better movepool, or base 60 Speed. As it is, he only JUST makes 400 Speed if he invests EVERYTHING into Speed. Realistically, he'll not even hit 380 without the +Nature, which means anything with a Choice Scarf or even a +1 Boost will outspeed him, and his defenses aren't good enough for him to be taking hits while boosting.

Do we know how speed is calculated with Speed Swap? If it takes effect the turn the speed is swapped, unlike megas, it might work.
And I suppose Vikavolt is "bulky" enough to take one hit.
>>
People and their EV spreads. As if this was still a sweeping meta game. Calculate your attacks and EVs for potential threats, and good luck trying to Sweep with a slow Pokemon.
>>
>>29777900
>Do we know how speed is calculated with Speed Swap? If it takes effect the turn the speed is swapped, unlike megas, it might work.

It doesn't. You ever notice how in a double/triple battle, if one Pokemon gets paralyzed, they still take their turn as if they hadn't?

Turn order is decided before any moves occur, based on Priority and then Speed. The only thing that changes the turn order after that are moves that specifically change the values in the Turn Order table.

>And I suppose Vikavolt is "bulky" enough to take one hit.
>77/90/75

Are we talking Singles or Doubles?

In Singles, no, cause SR will break it.

In Doubles, no, cause it has to take 2 hits + priority next turn.

>>
>>29778023
Defensive Talonflame was "popular" because it could literally ALWAYS hit first.

Vikavolt sure as fuck can't hit first.
>>
How about bewear ?
Good physical bulk thanks to its 120 hp and fluffy, and hits hard.
It's just that it doesn't have the movepool to support it.
>>
>>29778103
He's not terrible, he's just not great.

Stat wise, he's solid. 120/80/60 defenses may seem meh, but he's basically a slightly bulkier Mamoswine with a slightly less shit defensive typing. 125 Atk is nothing to sneeze at either.

Typing-wise, he's wishing he had it better. It's not great defensively, but at least he gets an immunity to come in on.

Ability-wise, Fluffy is pretty nice. Not amazing, but decent. Definitely ups his longetivity.

Move-wise, Hammer Arm and Shadow Claw are decent and give him unresisted type coverage. So that means that he gets to choose between a Pain Split + Bulk Up / Substitute set, or a Sword Dance + Rock Slide / (Dragon Claw) set. He'll be able to run a Life Orb set, a Leftovers set, and a Band set - too slow for Scarf though.

Overall, he's a pretty solid Pokemon that can come into the battle really easily thanks to his immunity and Fluffy, and he can stay there for a bit and do a bit of damage, but he really wishes he was Ghost/Fighting instead of Normal/Fighting (which would make more sense as it's a spirit living in a fucking stuffed bear).
>>
>>29778270
I would've loved fairy/fighting too.

Nihilego @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs:74 HP/184 Sp. Attack/252 Speed
Wonder Room (Swaps defense and special defense)
Power Gem
Sludge Wave
Psyshock

Evs put it at 336 sp. attack and 335 speed so the ability will boost it's special attack. This makes up for it not having any boost moves available and the extra evs go into bulk to make up for the lack of recovery.

The main idea of this set is to hit hard and abuse it's natural bulk with wonder room. If a special wall comes in you can use Psyshock or swap defenses and probably get a free kill + boost out of it for things that resist Psyshock. When something can hit you hard physically, wonder room to swap your defenses. This would work really well with sandstorm to further increase your bulk.

Not off 65 Special Attack, dude. It's a cool ability but basically no point.

Speaking of merciless, it really sucks that Seviper didn't get it. It'd open up a cool niche for it and it fits lorewise.

IS IT TIME TO ROCK?!

Bulk up Golispod is kind of a pointless with the ability is it not?

I'm thinking the best is lefties+Leech life for the HP, yes?

I'd rather go for the Assault Vest. It's already got amazing Def, and Assault Vest brings up it's SpD to the same level, freeing up EVs to invest in HP, Atk and Spd. And like Conkeldurr it can afford to go all offenses thanks to Leech Life sustaining it.

So 252 HP / 252 ATK 4 Whatever
Assvest
-First Impression
-Leech Life
-Liquidate
-Rock Slide

What nature? Should I invest in def or s.def
