The first of every generation is mediocre at best, but this fan base always hypes them up, so the disappointment always happens. Happened with BW1, happened with XY, happening with SM.
BW2 people's expectations were exceeded at the time and most liked it then and it is still regarded as a high tier game by most, ORAS was an unexpected dissapointment and the mixed reception will continue into the future.
