Why does GF constantly re-use type combinations?

There are SO many unused type combinations that they could utilize and we just keep getting the same stuff over and over and over.

Every gen we get like 2 or 3 new type combos and then everything else is a rehash.

I don't see the issue here.

People have been begging Game Freak to create a fully evolved Bug/Water Pokémon, and now we have one (or two if Dewpider's evolution retains its typing).

Let the people who hate Masquerain for being Bug/Flying have their day. Eventually the day for people who want a Bug/Dragon or a Bug/Dark Pokemon will come.
