the sightings are actually god damn useless sometimes
a victreebel popped up on pokesear.ch but not on my sightings even though it was within 200m of where I was
I went out to see if it was actually there or if it had spawns for a scanner worker but not for me
as it turns out, it was actually there and popped up in range, but the entire time never showed up on sightings, even when I was next to it and it was visible on the screen.
I left a couple of minutes after it first showed on the scanner with 15 minutes remaining, and it turned out to be an extended time spawn so it was actually more than half an hour on it
when I was near it it was probably about 7 minutes remaining, yet still wouldn't show on the sightings after checking it constantly on the way there and while there

Why the fuck Niantic is so incompetent? They finally start to do something positive then go and fuck players in the ass. It's hard enough to level up and get good already, but now with speed limit on pokestop. I'm not going to freeze of my fingers just to get couple of pokeballs and a potion.

Yes. I've tested this while driving and when I stopped and waited for 5 seconds by a pokestop I was able to get items. Same with slowly pulling up to a stop, but driving by one and trying to swipe it will always result in "try again later"

What I don't understand is how this affects Pogo Plus users, like if they're affected by this speed lock as well it makes the bluetooth dongle literally worthless, and if they can get items while driving by a stop it's an extremely deceitful but effective marketing ploy.

RIP pokemon go. This constant baby-sitting patch style is alienating actual players. The GPS system isn't even reliable enough to see you're moving at normal speed or standing still so it blocks out sightings... spawns... now stops. They're putting so much effort into "safety" and stopping cheaters/3rd party apps that they're killing their own product. They learned nothing from developers like Turbine or SOE or other online game developers who spent years in that fight and lost. Niantic is cocky and extremely naive. All for what? To try to change human behavior? It won't stop people from cheating and it won't stop people from using phones while driving. Instead they ruin the few customers they have left. If even passenger players are an issue, change the scale of the game, scale it down to one block you can find everything? They went too big and now it's biting them. How can they put "fixes" like this in with GPS Tech so figetty? I was in a hotel next to 3 pokestops and didnt move but the game kept bouncing around and accused me of driving. It also does this at my work. In my opinion, the game Niantic is killing their own product with the baby-sitter patches. They're pushing legit players away.
Seriously though, look at what happens with games like Star Wars Galaxies and Asheron's call when developers spend all their time trying to 'fix cheats' instead of trying to actually make content.

Not him but that was true before NIantic increased the number of spawn points everywhere.

I used to be able to reach like 3-4 spawns points from my apartment.
Now it's like 20.

100 balls used to barely last me the night, now it barely lasts me an hour before I run out and I can't catch anything until I go out the next morning.

I'm at 500 item capacity and my best pokestop spinning route is 7 stops in 6 minutes, aka. about 210 items an hour - 50 an hour because of Pokemon that occasionally spawn. It takes me 3+ hours at the end of my work day to farm enough items to burn in an hour at home. It's a bit tiring to be honest. And they're all shitmons too so it doesn't feel like they're worth my time. I don't mind grinding star dust when I'm near a Pokestop but I hate knowing that none of the Pokemon that I spent 3+ hours grinding items for will never amount to anything more than candy fodder.

I thought Pokemon storage capacity was more important than backpack capacity but now, I'm going to have to spend all my coins on backpack capacity so I can spend 6+ hours farming items so that I can spend them all at home in 2 hours instead of 1.

Niantic pissed me off when they started letting people train with six Pokémon. I know it's because I play more causally than other but I'm level 23 and have wasted all my revives to take down a gym and failed. It was probably to help new players but it's now impossible to take down a gym unless you have a full team of 2000cp's or a group of people to help which isn't always on hand, especially when you're team instinct. Today I learned that I didn't need to update my app to receive First Catch/Stop of the Day boni, which I liked. But when I saw a Level 7 Gym and tried to up prestige so I could deposit something I realized that upping prestige is even more agonazing than usual. I'm mystic and I don't know what you are talking about. We are the underdog here and apparently honest players since nobody spoofed to place their mon on a lvl 9 gym with one free slot and almost lvl 10 while the mystic gym located in an area inacessible at night got taken down at 1 am.

I still don't give a shit about the gym meme. I got Battle Girl and Ace Trainer to gold, shit ain't worth the time after that since mysticucks outnumber me in my area and will still control everything a week from now. Plus, you miss on valuable stardust and candy while you fight a losing battle.

I don't really mind it but it's no surprise people is getting upset about being forced to play a certain way.

The buddy update was the only one that added something that mattered to the game. The Halloween event and the recent changes in spawns are pretty good even if that isn't an update per se.

I prefer attack movesets since my mons will be taken over anyway

I just name them of things they remind me of. Like for example I named my Venusaur Bob because of the character Harold from the Fallout series that had a plant growing over him.

At first, with the tracking and all I would rate it a 7.5 or so, it was legit fun and felt like a good videogame. Without that the game is an ok pedometer app, it also constantly fucks you in the ass for being higher level.

Caught this new dex entry in my neighborhood. Was likely the most stressful chase I've experienced while playing this game. My phone battery was about to die and after 10 minutes of searching I never thought I would find it. Then I decided to use pokesear.ch, hoping it might work this time around and it did!
I was expecting the IV's of this King to be awful but it wasn't that bad. Neither is its moveset although it could always be better.

Also gained two 10k eggs and new safe lv 10 gym spots, so all in all it's been a very good day

I like the anti-snipe idea, since I've fallen victim to some practicing this before. I absolutely loathe the lowered prestige per won gym battle though.

Didn't use to, but since the appraisal system came out I tend to evolve Pokemon with overall better IVs.

Not quite. My CP are low compared to most people in gyms around here so I never expect to hold many to begin with. I'm all about offensive movesets.

Depends. It's mostly memey names, very rarely I will name a Pokemon to reflect its (near) perfect IV rating or moveset typing. (I named my fighting only Pinsir Punchbug)
