I like Unova pokes but the starters are shit. I hate most things Kalos introduced (fairies, megas, heavy gen1 pandering) but i can say it has the best box legendaries and a some of my favorite pokes (noivern, tyrantrum, gogoat, pangoro) but the starters are still shit.

I still remember my disappointment with Quilladin and how I wished I picked Froakie. Now I'm glad I didn't pick a starter remembered as "meme frog" but I still don't like Chespin too much. I think Chespin's line might've worked a hell of a lot better if it were quadrupedal.
Not even meming, it could've been a better representation of an armoured mammal, also Chespin's spines were the best and Game Freak shouldn't have changed them to the fucking traffic cones that Quilladin and Chesnaught have.

Not the best, but pretty good. I think the fox is kind of a let down, given how good it's prevos were. But Greninja and Chestnaught are dank, despite of what /vp/ says. /vp/ sucks ass, anyway.

Honestly, I feel like they're really good in terms of both overarching concept (knight/mage/ninja), types (dat second triangle), and name puns (Delphox is fuckin great). I don't have anything against the designs, but they just don't personally grab me.

I really wish Chesnaught's arms were like, 15% shorter, though. Or that it naturally had its shiny palette.

Chespin is an example of what's wrong with modern Pokemon design. Quilladin is an abomination, but somehow it manages to be better than it's predecessor and evolution. Chesnaught might be tolerable if its shiny was how it normally looked, but it is one of the worst starters of all as is.

Fennekin's proportions are weird, otherwise it's fine. Braixen is alright, Delphox looks good in art only.

Froakie is a little too cartoonish, but good overall. Frogadier is one of the best middle evolutions out of all starters. Greninja is great but a little too different from Frogadier, and has some questionable design choices.

No, you're not the only one. Bandai Namco also likes the Kalos starters, or else they wouldn't have put in Braixen as a playable character (and both Fennekin/Frogadier as assists).

I love the Kalos starters! DESU, Chesnaught went waaaaaaayyyy off into some weird fucking planet that I don't really feel like...worked. In terms of looking like he belongs in his line...it's not happening.

The other two are brilliant and awesome. A ninja frog who uses his tongue as a scarf? A witch fox who keeps their wand in their fur? Very fun, fresh. Love.

Alola is awesome and I honestly have no complaints about any of them whatsoever. I mean, come on. Decidueye is brilliant. Just brilliant. So is Primarina. The ideas were so out of left field but in the best way. Incineroar, while not super creative, is still a cool design and the typing is great. All of the typings are
