I'm not the same anon, but let me try and guess what's going on. This is my interpretation of events, I could have some things wrong.
First the Gen 2 games took place three years after Yellow. Then Gens 3, 4, and 5 happened, and they all took place around the same time. Then Black and White 2 were released in Gen 5, moving the timeline forward two years. Then Gen 6 happened, and it turned out to be an alternate universe from the games we grew up playing. Then the Gen 3 remakes happened in Gen 6, and they took place at the same time as X & Y (I think), meaning either the current timeline is two years behind the previous one or the Hoenn incident happened at a later date than the original.
Then in Sun and Moon we see young adult Red, meaning they take place even later than Black and White 2 (since Red was around 16 in those) but Wally hasn't aged a day.
And for SOME REASON, the Gallade he caught in a Poke Ball is in a fucking Ultra Ball.
