She was nerfed in Platinum though. She was a much better challenge in D/P. Overall probably my favorite Gen next to 2 though (probably tied desu).

Cynthia's Garchomp in DP is probably the hardest storyline battle in the whole series. And don't they get buffed up to ~75 for the rematch?

It's the only decent game of Sinnoh.
D/P are probably the worst main series games.
Platinum fixes most of its major issues (without changing the engine) with the only sin being adding in the most useless shoe-horn npc of the series.

How much work would it be for a hacker to port Platinum to the gen 5 engine?

Plat is way better than Diamond and pearl. You can actually get some of the cross-gen evolutions before beating the game. You can use one of the two native Eeveelutions.

If you played pearl and didn't dig your own eyes out you'll probably love platinum. Still not as good as the gen 2 remakes though.
