pick one starter pokemon to be your pal for life
it will defend you and help you based on practicality
>>29664673
Totodile
>>29664673
Litten. Mostly cuddly and usable in real life. He can keep me warm by starting fires. Plus cats are good pets.
Banana snake
Bulbasaur. Can help me grab shit from afar with its vines, defend me with Vine Whip, Razor Leaf etc, is useful is heaps of situations with Sleep Powder.
>>29664718
Charmander obviously.
>>29664673
Oshawott of course. Because a evolves into a freaking warrior. Perfect for a guardian figure.
>>29664673
Depends.
If just the starter and I don't have to evolve then either cyndaquil or rowlet. My only concern with cyndaquil is it might set my house on fire.
If it has to evolve then mudkip. I like all the evolutions a they all seem like cool pokemon to have.
>>29664673
What, as a first stage forever, or will it evolve eventually?
If it stays as a NFE, I'd go with oshawott because it's cute and happy and I love otters.
If it evolves, then Chikorita, because having a big ol grass dino sounds cool and it probably smells like nice spices.
Chikorita. It emits sweet, soothing aromas perfect for calming anxiety. It's also incredibly cute and would probably just be a dog-sized dinosaur.
Torterra
I mean you could live on that thing
>>29664673
It gets cold where I live and Emboar seems like the friendliest fire starter, so I'll go with him.
>>29664673
Incineroar, he'd spot me.
>>29664673
Assuming it can evolve then charizard solely so I can fucking fly
Treeko. Geckos are my favorite animal.
Piplup second as I also love penguins.
>>29664689
Thread is off to a good start
Chikorita. if i can figure out a way to get him to evolve, i can use him to help grow plants.
Turtwig if we can go by anime rules and have Pokemon be radically larger than average.
Tepig, cause he can keep me company in a cold winter's night, it's super cute, probably smarter than a dog and, once he outlives his usefulness, he'll make for some great porkchops
charizard so i can feel his warmth xD
Honestly surprised to see so many chikoritas. Anyways, I'll take Torchic.
>>29664673
Feraligatr. Alligators are fucking scary.
chimchar
>primates are smart
>4 extremities with thumbs
little monkey bro to sit on my shoulders and grab stuff for me
>>29664673
totodile
>>29666068
Pokemon canonically have varying sizes, anon. It's probably pretty likely your Turtwig could grow bigger than average.
>>29666172
Even though Meganium isn't very good in-game, Chikorita is a solid and cute design and probably the most safe and practical starter to have.
>>29664718
>situations with Sleep Powder.
found the rapist
>>29666187
>Tfw never will own world's biggest Slakoth
why live
Totodile, I could hug it and love it like I always wanted
>>29664673
Froakie. Ninjas seem to be the type that are keen on survival tactics.
>>29664673
It they can evolve then it would be piplup, there's a lot of water where I live so he'd be helpful for getting around. Also empoleon could probably shield me from bullets among other things with his wings.
If they aren't allowed to evolve then I'd go with rowlet since he can fly around and grab me stuff. Not mention he can shoot razor sharp leaves that would either maim or kill anyone trying to attack me.

Where did this art come from? Bigger version?
Anyway, Torchick. I don't get enough light for a grass type and I don't like to spend time in the water. I do like camping and have plenty of veggies and rice around, though! There's even crickets and cicadas all summer long. I also get cold easily so a warm huggable chick would be nice. I also grew up raising birds ranging from parakeets to geese so it's nothing new for me to raise a different bird.
I thought about Chimchar but the monkey is literally burning it's own farts and as a teen extends it's flames to help soothe it's massive tail envy. It's also hyperactive. It would be a pain in the butt to raise.

Debatable. As long as it's not actively on fire it shouldn't be too dangerous. So fennkin is OK, but be careful of chimchar.
Cyndaquil. Snuggly, cute, cooks your food, keeps you alive, lights your path. Middle stage is badass, final stage is rideable in a battle or escape situation. Such a sleek evo line.

>>29664689
>>29664718
Good taste
Huh, when you think about it, where are they going to add a fire turtle as a starter?
>>29664673
Turtwig, because I want to be a lazy fuck and ride on it.
>>29664673
chimchar since its the only bipedal one there
>>29664673
If it can evolve, charmander.
If it can't, firemonkey.
poplio
Bulbasaur one and only!
>>29664673
Turtwig.Fully evolved it would be comfy as fuck to put up a tent and snooze on its back while roaming around
>>29667657
It must smell so nice.
Also it's one scarry motherfucker since Ivysaur stage.
>>29664673
Cyndaquil. First played Crystal, first Pokemon. Easy choice.
Grasshoot if it can learn Fly
Otherwise Charizard
>>29664673
Fennekin
best pupper
>>29667228
that image is pottery.
anyway I would choose treecko because lizards are the best
>>29664673
Piplup because he is cute.
>>29666107
into vore?
>>29664673
Probably Totodile or Snivy
>>29664673
Charmander, because a child's loyalty is eternal.
If he was out of the equation, I'd have to give it a lot more thought.
>>29672844
>Charmander, because a child's loyalty is eternal.
wat
>>29673513
He was the first Pokemon I ever owned, as a child, and therefore I have an irrational loyalty to him. Nostalgia wins.
>>29664673
fuck driving
>>29666187
Man, I wish every Pokemon had the Pumpkaboo size mechanic, that'd be cool as fuck. Instead of changing its base stats based on its size, they could base the size of it visually on its Attack and Defense stats - i.e. a Pokemon with max IVs on Attack and Defense would be 1.5x larger than a Pokemon with 0 IV's on both.
With the introduction of Hyper Training, that would also mean that as you buff a Pokemon's IV's, it bulks the fuck up. Would be a neat visual indicator.
