ITT: post obscure, bulbapedo tier trivia
>out of all the generations to introduce Bug/Steel type pokemon, gen 4 was the only one to introduce just one Bug/Steel type
>>29623260
>Johto only has scizor
>more than one bug/steel
>>29623305
Forretress you dummy
>>29623305
>only one
>>29623305
Forrotress? Fucking mongoloid lmao
>>29623305
>what is forretress
>>29623318
Forretress is a Kanto pokemon
>>29623305
Forretress, nerd.
>>29623305
bet ya feel pretty dumb for forgetting Forretress
Generation 1 introduced more Poison type Pokemon than all other generations combined.
>>29623539
Because they keep reusing them as team fodder.
The most damage possible is by using a Swampert against a lvl 1 Noivern, having a Max attack Swampert with Ice Ball and Defense Curl in a Triple Battle
>Give Swampert a Metronome
>Have a Shuckle with Power Trick use Power Split on Swampert
>Using Defense Curl
>Swagger on the Swampert 3 times
>Passing Protean through Skill Swap to Swampert
>Using Forest Curse on Noibat
>Reduce its defense to -6
>Use Sunny Day to activate Flower Gift
>Helping hand on Swampert
>Getting a crit on the last Ice Ball hit
The result is a Max damage of 755,603,424
>>29623539
I guess SE against Fairy is a fucking blessing, but there's no reason why it shouldn't SE bugs.
>>29623783
Wouldn't it stop after Ice Ball kills it?
>>29623788
Do not even joke about fucking around with the type listings do you even know who saturo iwata is do you think pokemon is a fucking JOKE mfw you dont even own all the gens
>>29623822
That's the damage Ice Ball does on its last hit, so switching the Noibat to tank the last hit does the trick... On paper, because the same as the Shuckle hit, it's basically impossible to setup something this complicated
>>29623346
>>29623260
Smoochm could learn ice ball though breeding
But nothing could breed it on to it
>>29623783
Okay maybe I have the dumb; but explain why this would hit harder than the Power Trick Shuckle Rollout? Shuckle can do all of--
Forest Curse? Does... add the type? Do they become _three_ types? What the fuck.
Fairy is weak to poison and steel because in old myths Fairies/Fae would be burned or killed by cold Iron. Putting certain incenses out was also poisonous to them or made them ill.
There was one pokemon in every generation who is 4x weak to grass.Until gen VII came along... :(
>>29623260
Gen 6 was the only gen red didn't make an appearance
29623346
Ebin
Surskit and Nincada are the only Pokemon to evolve into a more common type combination. However, if you only count fully evolved, then you can include Metapod, Pineco, Silcoon, Burmy, Karrablast, Spewpa, and Pinsir (Mega) because there are more fully evolved Bug/Flying and Bug/Steel than fully evolved pure Bug.
Flying is the most commonly lost type upon Mega Evolving (Charizard X, Gyarados, Altaria).
>>29623260
Every Odd Gen introduces a blob poison pokemon or form
Muk, Gulpin, Garbodor and Muk again
>>29623260
>>29623783
Why Swampert? Wouldn't some Ice-type be more effective?
Mind=Blown
>>29626195
Swampert is the mon with the highest Attack that get Ice Ball, and having Protean switched on it makes him Ice anyway
>>29625441
Yes. 8x weakness to ice.
>>29626213
That said, both Machamp and Ursaring can learn Metronome from the Gen 3 tutors, and have a higher Atk.
If they randomly got Ice Ball out of it, would it be stuck with it the following turns, and would Protean activate? If so, that's even more damage.
Hoopa is the only Pokémon to have more than one category.
>>29626205
No it's not, its based on the idea that krabby is angry
>>29626262
...what?
>>29623783
Wait, why Noivern? Doesn't Noibat have less Defense?
>>29626286
It ends with 3 types.
Dragon + Flying + Grass= 8x weakness to ice.
>>29626299
She probably made a mistake in the first line, because later it's Noibat
>>29623783
>>29626213
>>29626275
Surely Huge/Pure Power would do more damage than Protean.
On top of that, Honchkrow could Mirror Move something that uses Defence Curl and Ice Ball, it has 125 Attack.
Or Absol could Mimic a Defence Curl, then Me First an Ice Ball.
Besides all that, I would have thought that a Huge Power Shuckle with Power Trick + STAB would be better than a Poke with Power Split and only one of Huge Power OR STAB, even if it could only get a x4 super effective instead of a x8.
>>29626300
And that's why people wanting pokemon with 3 types are ignorant.
>>29623260
Origin
It is based on a crab.
Name origin
Krabby is a corruption of crabby (grouchy or ill-tempered) and a pun on crab.
Crab is literally crab.
>>29626275
they were talking about the item metronome, not the move
>>29623260
Every odd generation introduces a 2 stage mushroom pokemon that learns spore
Paras/Parasect, Shroomish/Breloom, Foongus/Amoongus, and Morelull and its evolution. Although morelull ins't confirmed to get spore yet.
>>29629252
Pretty sure it used Spore in its reveal trailer.
>>29623907
That makes sense, I thought Ice Ball was a move that hits 2-5 times, not a move that gets stronger every turn.
>Lickitung can't learn Lick in R/B
>>29626378
Why choose between Huge Power and Protean, once the Pokémon has become Ice Type, it no longer needs the ability and can replace it with Huge Power no?
>>29623260
ONLY ONE
WHAT IS THIS GENWUNNERESS
>>29629577
The same type as Scizor
>>29623788
because bugs are poisonous too?
Hmmmmmmm, what if they're only effective against bugs that can't learn poison moves?
I don't know why ice isn't se against bugs
>>29623788
>>29629620
>Wanting Parasect and Leavanny to have 4 quad weaknesses
You two are monsters
>>29629657
that's what coverage is for
Mew usedCrabhammer
The catch rates of Hariyama and Azurill were accidentally switched at some point in development. They're literally the only cases in the entire dex where the evolution is easier to catch, and they're right next to each other. Swapping them fixes both of them.
Doesn't explain the gender thing, though.
>>29625804
Be he is. He was announced to appear in SuMo.
>>29631187
Bumpf
>>29625804
Red appears in gen 5?
>>29631703
PWT champion's tournament
How new?
>>29629577
>out of all the generations to introduce Bug/Steel type pokemon
g2, g4, g5
>gen 4 was the only one to introduce just one Bug/Steel type
trashcloak wormadam, as opposed to...
g2: forretress & Scizor
g5: durant & excavalier
>>29631144
No, Hariyama has 200 catch rate and Azurill has 150.
>>29631739
I skipped gen 5.
>>29629620
Because then they're identical to grass types.
>>29631839
If you want to miss out fighting every gym leader and champion is competitive teams go ahead
With remixed themes and animated sprites
Gen 7 is the first generation since Generation 2 to not introduce a Fighting type starter.
>>29626277
What do you mean by more than one category?
>>29631937
First pokemon who has two forms which both have separate "species" listed.
The Mischeif Pokemonn and Djinn Pokemon.
>>29623305
>>29623346
Nope, No (you) for you
>>29631802
...anon, you do realize the catch rates were INTENTIONALLY switched in that image, right? To show that swapping them 'fixes' it?
>>29631802
That's what he's saying. It makes more sense for them to be switched. That's why the colors in the boxes don't match up. Because they were spotted in the picture to a configuration that makes more sense
>>29632034
Swapped, not spotted. That's what i get for phoneposting
>>29631144
huh. guess that explains why it took me so fucking long for me to figure out how to get azurill when i played ruby.
that dastardly catch rate!
>>29632029
>>29632034
he swapped them in that image so "it makes more sense", but azurill with 200 catch rate and marill with 190 still doesn't make sense. The original configuration makes more sense.
>>29634545
Look at the % nigg
>>29634709
Ah, i apologize. for some reason i thought higher numbers were more difficult.
>>29625804
No wonder Gen 6 was so poop.
jk.
