What I love about not giving an opinion until the subs come out is, I actually know what is going on

Lets go to the much hyped moment where Serena finally kisses Ash.

She tells him, “You’re my goal.” which was sweet and an implication of some sorts

After a few eye glances, she says to him “ Just you wait, by the next we meet, I’ll be a much ore attractive woman!”

I loved the cheek in the words.

What shows Serena is different is she understoon after all this time, she needed to be forward with Ash because he is dense. I do believe Ash go it after the kiss because as dense as he is, he knows when two people kiss, it means one person likes the other. Come on, he has had Brock as his friend for like 15 years lol.

Lastly, she asks him for one more thing. She asked him to give her one more thing that would ensure she had her own closer.

I love how she ran up the escalator. She overcame an obstacle to to get her goal and want.

Meloatta’s Serenade made the moment even more magical.

His pupils opened just a bit, in wonder and curiosity? But I do believe in that moment Ash knew what she was about to to. Plus notice we didn’t see Serena’s face

Some people are saying she kissed his forehead because Serena is taller than Ash. I don’t agree, she was on a moving staircase for Arceus sake. She tip toed to prolong the kiss to give her length. Ash was taken aback that you could see his slight step to keep his momentum. Plus, if it was nto the lips why not show it?

So I have seen so many posts in the tag that says that Ash wasn’t blushing when Serena kissed her. And I’m fine with that.

We are talking about Ash, the densest guy in the Pokeani universe, and blushing is not one thing that he usually does - let’s just leave the blushing to Serena since she seems to love doing it every chance she gets.

Going back to the video, we could see that everyone was blushing, except Ash. Except Ash - who was doing what exactly? STARING BLANKLY.

This specific reaction, is nothing new to us. He has been doing it in the season, for multiple times - and mind you, for the same reason - Serena.

XY021 - A PokéVision of Things to Come!
Serena surprises everyone and wears a Fennekin costume. Everybody else has the same reaction, except Ash.


XY073 - A Fashionable Battle!
Serena and Eureka substituted to be models for the fashion show, and everyone is shocked. Citron immediately recovered and asked how they did that, while Shota was more impressed with Ash for having a gym leader and two models as companions. Ash, once again, was left staring blankly with his mouth open.


XY140 - The Endless Zero! Until the Day We Meet Again!!
And most importantly, in this final episode, we get to see the same reaction from Ash, but not quite.

Let’s look to his reaction before the kiss


As Serena comes nearer, the sparkles on his eyes becomes more apparent.


Now this is his face after the kiss, look at the sparkles in his eyes. This is more apparent when you watched the video I linked above.


And mind you, after he seems to have regained his sensed, the sparkles in his eyes were gone, as he bids Serena goodbye.


So yeah, it may be just a subtle hint from Ash -> Serena, but still, a hint is still a hint.

Ash in general has been considerate of Serena. Just taking one example it was back during Serena's last Tripokalon and Ash put his gym on hold for her.

The thing about context is is simple, it was a romantic moment, and other anime, like some pointed out Naruto's reaction to Hinata, they use eye shimmering. It's also known he's more considerate about Serena. The gift has to do with how they do things in Japan with outings and dating.
