I really could not care less about not having fossils. I don't think every gen needs them. But I do find the overall low number for a second gen in a row to be very troubling, and there are definitely some odd choices in this batch (but there are odd choices in every batch so w/e).

Why is it that Cubone and Pikachu don't have Alolan forms, yet every other pokemon with Alolan forms also has a first stage alolan form, like Meowth, Diglett, Geodude, Vulpix, etc.

If I transfer a normal cubone over from my current game, will it still evolve into Alolan Marowak if it evolves in Alola?

You faggots did this. Gens 1-3 were designed around the same time, so they don't count. Past that every gen has devoted some designs toward making old Pokémon more interesting. Gen 4 had cross gen evos (and you autists give this a pass cause muh dex number) 6 had megas, and 7 has Alola forms and Ultra Beasts. Gen 5's gimmick was the soft reboot and all the resources went into making an all-new dex with ~150 mons. It was a disaster and people are still bitching about the ice cream and the garbage, among others. We get ~75 properly new mons and some other shit to build hype. Yet you will be surprised when this happens again in gen 8. Gen 5 sold poorly (for Pokémon) and Gen 7 is on track to sell like fluffy pancakes. This is Pokémon now. Get used to it or gtfo, but for fucks sake don't act so surprised.
