Because this is a game that still has one of the best level curves, some actually challenging teams from E4, Ghetsis/N, the champions to a lesser extent, and hell a few choice gym leaders.
And the home of the only difficulty setting in the series.

For me it's the dark colors around the hole region. It's an urban region and pokemon regions are supposed to have a lot of nature. Many of the pokemon have darkish color to them.

Honestly, I like BW but it had shit atmosphere in my opinion. Something about the way it felt was just off for me. Maybe it's the lack of old Pokemon or something, but I can't tell.

Or maybe it just didn't leave a lot to the imagination, which is an odd complaint but something I like about the games. Coming up with some bullshit story in my head to keep me entertained while I'm playing the game is fun to me, even if it is autistic as all hell.
