If I'm forced to use my starter in game I will literally end my life. It's not that I hate them or anything (They're actually among the best designed starters in the series) but if I can't revisit those dreamlike days of playing Pokemon for the first time and completely neglecting my starter in the box in favor of gimmicky shitmons my life will no longer hold meaning.
