No matter how awful BW is, it's canon because Pansy appears to indrouce Kalos, and Ash is distinctly wearing his Kalos outfit before the end.

Which is why I'll never understand the "lack of continuity" meme XY has going for it. Hoenn is mentioned several times, Serena's heading off there and all.

I think this last XYZ episode was the end for me.
