I know most of us autists like everything to fit into neat little boxes with clear labels on them, but Pokemon is just not as simple or tidy as "Wally's [X] was caught in [Y] ball, canonically speaking, because Sun/Moon says so". Cynthia's Garchomp is practically genderfluid at this point, does it matter dick or represent any kind of "canon"? No.
