For gen 6 the starter's secondary typings help beat the other starters even more: Grass/Fighting -> Water/Dark -> Fire/Psychic -> and back again.
Maybe it's the same with Gen 7 :
Water/Fairy -> Fire/Fighting -> Grass/Ghost
Maybe they changed the charts so that Ghost is now super effective against Fairy?

I think it's neat. A lot of birds come to islands and lose the ability to fly due to a lack of predators (think dodos or several extinct Hawaiian birds like the Moa Nalo).
