It's a Game Boy Color ROM, it should be. I've never used VBA8 and don't know the quality of its emulation, at worst the new Pokémon cries won't play since they use recorded audio like Pikachu's cries in Yellow, since some bad emulators have trouble playing them.

I'm not sure about all of them. I know Sound and Gas are still in, but I think he cut Wind/Wood/Abnormal. Gas is kind of silly but Sound is at least reasonable. I'll never understand why Wood was its own type in Brown.

Game broke a few times which is what the TPP run was intended to weed out. Had some fun moments, last battle against the secret bosses had some amusing hax. The five Fakemon look kinda dumb but they're not mandatory. There were some pretty dumb-in-a-good-way plot moments like the prison sequence. Had a bit of edge Nintendo wouldn't allow like mentions of drinking, but beer wasn't an actual item this time around. It's pretty amazing what they managed to pack on something that's actually playable on a GBC. Overall I'm actually looking forward to playing it myself.

TPP watcher here.

-5 new types unless >>29454173 is right and only two, also including Fairy
-2d areas, well executed
-Good new songs
-Good sprites for new mons
-Some sort of mining mechanics to get rocks/gems, don't know more about it though
-AI sometime go full retard but they are most likely fixing it for the final release
-Good variety of mons in the early routes
-There is no Mega evolution and no double battles
-Post game looks too easy, at least E4 Rematch & Mystery League are.

There is a lot more bell & whistles things from what I've seen but it looks great overall.
