Nigga what? Audino and Lopunny got Megas and they're from Gens 4 and 5.

Also, Serperior doesn't necessarily NEED a Mega as it has the Leaf Storm/Contrary combo. What it does need is a better movepool though.

They just need to grit their teeth and start introducing significant stat and movepool changes each gen. Start fixing some of shitmons, and otherwise good Pokemon with NO MOVES.

Stat changes between gens tend to be very minor, mostly adding ten to a weak base stat. Alaoan forms seem to be the closest well get to an actual rework of old mons in terms of stats. I also don't see gamefreak expanding movepools until new types are introduced.

Because Ruby and Sapphire got a remake while Mega Evo was a thing. If Gold and Silver got a remake when Mega Evo was thing, then those starters would get the Mega Evo
