You can notice a design continuity in Spearow's line, colors and details.

I think people will agree if I'll explain how most feel about it: "It's like Starly evolving into Chatot or Tentacool into Drifblim".

Even the middle stage, beside looking like Tranquill 2.0 forgettable shitmon, doesn't look strong enough as a linking stage between the first and third stage, only has some shades of orange on its beak at best.
