A fire dragon, a turtle with cannons and whatever Venusaur is. Balanced perfectly between being too simple and overdesigned. Had good amount of thought put into them, making them feel real.
Overall great. 10/10.

Too simple. They had nothing special about them. Only Feraligatr likeable.

They looked cool. Nice design, but not perfect. Except for Sceptile, the starters didn't have anything special going for them. Blaziken felt a bit overdesigned with the hair, and Swampert was a bit weird.

Great designs. First time since Generation 1 the designs felt alive. Empoleon is a bit underwhelming compared to the other two, but good nonetheless.

Oshawott, Dewott, Snivy line and Tepid are good.
Pignite fucks up by being a bipedal pig in a wrestling suit. Embaor is better than Pignite, but still pretty shit.
Samurott goes from being bipedal to quadrupedal. A quadrupedal swordsman doesn't work. The facial hair is the worst. If it was a standalone Pokemon, it would be okay, but it ruined the Oshawott line.

I'm counting spin-offs too, and Gen 5's were absolutely horrid, though B2/W2 redeemed the gen a little bit. Gen 6 had great spin-offs, but the fact it was rushed to hell and back, the games were disappointed as well, and it was left unfinished makes it just as bad or worse than 5.

6 and 7 are so high because they're great as trios and compliment each other.
