Gen V sold like shit compared to other Pokemon games and the Mons are infamous for being commonly used as examples of bad Pokemon designs. It's not really a surprise that GF is trying to sweep it under the rug.

Pretty sure it's more because it's new.
With Gen6 it was only 1 generation removed... so of course it wouldn't see any buffs or whatever.
Now that it'S 2+ generations back, you can expect to start to see things like megas or whatever for the Gen5 mons.
