I remember types by remembering certain Pokemon; I used to create rotating teams that covered each of the 18 types, so it sort of be came habit for me to know types. That and having been a player since Gen 2/3. I started off with my favorite 4 types and then had no order after that, just whatever came to mind.

Rock, steel, fighting, water, fairy, ground, electric, flying, grass, poison, dragon, psychic, normal, bug, fire, ice, dark, ghost.
Started with favorites, then just drifted, nothing logical about it.

I felt OP's spoiler was going to be the "1st type you typed is your subconscious' favorite" kind of bs, so I put my fav type (ghost) first and the rest at random. But turns out OP was a cool guy today.

I generally remember them in 5 groups: elementals (fire, water, ice, electric), nature (grass, bug, flying, poison), mineral (ground, rock, steel), mystic (psychic, ghost, fairy, dragon) and good-neutral-evil (fighting, normal, dark).

I have an easier time remembering ghost, normal and psychic types than any other. I sometimes even forget flying and rock types exist when writing down all types in a list until I look it up.

Normal first because it's normal. Triangle, then Electric/Psychic because my favorite childhood TCG deck was the Pikachu/Mewtwo one. Next we have all the brown types. Flying next because Fighting preceded. Ice because it's cool to fly. Bug and Poison after because they're related to Grass kind of. This is how I typed them since Gen 1 so back then, yeah. Ghost and Dragon next because only one of each back then. Then the other three in order of appearance I suppose. Neat op

I just wrote them as they came to my mind, no particular order. Obviously, the first would be my favorites. Fire, Grass, Water, Ice and Electric come fast to mind because of starters and the "secondary" cycle (Fire, Ice, Electric) I remember form gens 1-2. Interestingly though, from there on, I remembered attacks instead of Pokemon.

I have it first split by the old special/physical split. First is special in basically Eevee's evolutions, then dragon, then newest--fairy.
Then the physical types are grouped by what I see as "kinda similarish". Normal group first, then poison group, then rock group. Not sure why that order, but hey!

Water's my favourite type, which is linked to fire and grass by the starters, and to dragon because dragon resists all of them plus electric. Electric's hard counter is ground, which is linked to rock and steel. Then psychic, dark and fighting make a trio, and fighting is countered by fairy, which is a 'mystical' type like ghost, which is the opposite of normal. The rest were things that I didn't remember as well.

Secondary elemental : Ice, Electric
Edgy types : Psychic, Dark, Ghost, Fighthing ( I always see them as being connected )

I list them by weaknesses. First I always start out with normal because it isn't super effective against anything. Then I move on to the 4 primary types: grass, fire, water, electric; in that order. After that I start listing the weaknesses of said types. First fighting, then grass weaknesses then fire's and so on. The order in which I list them often varies because I remember some easier than others. After listing the weaknesses of the primary types, I move on to the weaknesses' weaknesses. Once I reach 17, I list the final type, dragon since it is only super effective in itself.

Of course I only use this when listing them, which isn't often, I'm aware of most pokemon's weaknesses automatically, unless I forget or don't now their type.

I start with FWG because of the starters, then electric bc in my mind it's closest to other starters. after that I finish the special types bc it's all the eeveelutions+dragon which makes it easy to remember. I think because I did fairy last I did steel, but that leads to associations with rock (since it's just stronger rock to me), and that leads to the TCG associations with fighting/ground. Flying I thought of honestly because I forgot it while listing types out for something the other day, but TCG associates it with normal, which I think is the opposite of ghost. poison and bug I had to think about for a second but listing types the other day it was one of the first physical types I listed.

The way to remember them all is simply mentally cycling through teams I had in previous games, that and opposites too "Listed Fighting, then now goes Flying". Also things like "Normal.. oh, like Rattata which is Dark now, right".

Starters always go in grass->fire->water order, then up until flying every type is SE against the type before it. Normal and Dragon stand out for not being SE against anything and being only SE on itself, respectively

Grass, Fire, Water, and Electric are what I call the "core four." They're four types I feel should be represented in all team comps, so I always have at least one Pokémon representing each type. Dark, Steel, and Fairy are the "new" editions, so I always group them. Fighting and Flying are phonetically similar and have a relationship so I group them. Rock and Ground are commonly associated together. Ghost and Psychic bring to mind one another due to their relationship. Interestingly I always associate Dragon and Normal because I view Dragon as being a sort of "super" Normal type: Normal type is often defined by its neutrality (not being super effective vs anything but not being commonly resisted either) which Dragon also has going for it only being super effective vs itself. All and all it just seems like a Normal type upgrade.

originally, I had all the types typed out in the order they were first encountered in RGBY, but physical types first and special second, with the three later types tacked onto their respective ends. That then morphed into what it is today, which is the order I've been using for over a year whenever I'm working on a fan-game pokedex or analyzing current pokedex-es.

Started by going with original physical, than around dragon I just remembered they got their own tcg type a few years ago and sorta did the rest in no particular order.

I always start with Normal, Grass, Fire, Water, and Electric due to the first being the most basic type and the latter four corresponding to the original four starters. I always end with Ghost, Dragon, Steel, Dark, and Fairy. The former two were easily the rarest types in Generation I, and the last three were added to the series later on. The middle varies, but Fighting is the most common to come after the first five and Rock and Ground are always together.

I knew you'd ask something like that! I usually go with the starter types, but the blueness of your image make me think of Ice first. Anyways I don't usually have a set order I remember them, just whatever comes to mind first. I did start thinking of Legendaries and iconic pokemon a few types later. I tried singing the first XY opening to remember them, but then I realized I didn't know Japanese. Or the song. I was a bit stuck on the last one but when I reached Lunaala the darkness of night reminded me that was a type.

First 8 shot to mind instantly. I guess maybe Zangoose being my favourite mon and Electric being my favourite type could've influenced that? Ice and Bug came to mind while typing Water and Grass, which makes sense since they're sort of related.

Paused a little before the rest. Got Dragon, Fairy, Fighting and Dark in one shot-- Makes sense I guess, the first two making me think of X/Y, the second two coming from Scrafty being my most used Pokemon all gen 6. Got Poison on its own, then Ground and Rock together.

. . . I thought I liked a good chunk of Ghost types, but I'll admit even running a ton of Pokemon through my mind I had to finally check a type chart to get it, second guessing myself like "There ARE 18, right? This anon's not just fucking with us?"
