Early game bugs are hardly good.
Well this one is immune to dragon attacks, so theres that.

It's Fairy, so it's not-garbo by default.

Still, bugs without a protection against smogonpebbles or really busted moves aren't that great. Plus it's an early game thing.

Hopefully it'll be RU, but I give it UU at best.

I can picture it being a good support mon. But strictly support.

Fairy is always a good type, but this thing would have been much better if it was pure fairy. Bug adds a lot of weaknesses, and does nothing to cover the types that resist fairy, such as poison, steel, and fire.

So unless it has at least 2 out of the three: amazing HA, amazing stats, amazing movepool, then it will be NU at best, but PU realistically.

And offensively, you might as well just post fairy's type effectiveness. As I posted above, fairy and bug are both resisted by poison, steel, and fire, but fairy has huge advantages by being SE against dragon and fighting, while bug is only SE against psychic and grass.

If Ribombee gets moonoblast, bug buzz would barely be worth the moveslot, unless it just lacks a diverse movepool.

So how COULD this thing be good? Assuming it has a low/mediocre BST as is likely.

I could only see it being saved by quiver dance, but there are already so many quiver dancers to compete with and they all do pracitcally the same thing.

thematically it probably won't get access to sticky web, or spore, or some really good move

It could be real in vgc if they limit 2017 to the new dex.

This might be what they were going for. No matter how I look at it, it seems like it will be shitty 1v1. but It looks like it would get follow me/helping hand/screens/tailwind/heal pulse.

Considering the weak defensive bug typing though, it probably won't do well in VGC either way though.

If this thing has decent speed/sp attack I could see it being useful as a niche. It would just be the simple focus sash, quiver dance (assuming it gets it) strategy and this thing could be an okay dragon or grass killer. Other than that it's gonna be meh, maybe good in a playthrough. A bit of a waste of a good typing. Morelull will be stuck in the same spot.

Grass/Fairy isn't that bad either.
My fear is just that Morelull's evo will be slow as balls. Guess spore + focus sash will be it's highest usage then.

No it doesn't. Pure fairy does just fine in ass blasting fighting types, the added bug just makes it weaker to stone edge/rock slide which every fucking fighting type has
