I'm currently searching through twitter with "Satosere" or "Amourshipping" in the tags. Some people are vowing to never watching Pokemon again after Serena leaves.

What surprises me is how many of them seem like young teenagers and don't know the anime's history. Many of them say they've never watched AG or DP, and only saw a few episodes of Kanto.

I keep on forgetting that there is a whole new younger generation of fans who weren't even around when the OS or AG were airing. One guy also said he liked May from watching the 4 AG movies but never actually watched the Hoenn saga itself.

>main timeline zamasu fights goku and decides to steal his body with super dragon balls
>he kills gomasu first to steal the time ring
>goku and zamasu switch bodies, zamasu, now black goku, kills goku, chi chi and goten
>because vegeta would probably be on his ass asap, he uses the time ring to flee the timeline
>he doesn't want to go to a timeline where beerus would be on his ass either, so he ends up in future trunks timeline

Yes. It involves time fuckery.
Basically:
Goku Black is an evil god called Zamasu from a timeline where Future Trunks never went back to the past for help.
This Zamasu was once an Apprentice Kaioshin who ended up discovering about the Super Dragon Balls and Goku's power(implied to be because of the U6 vs U7 tournament), then he killed his Kaioshin master to steal his position as Kaioshin and used something called "time rings" to make a wish to the Super Dragon Balls without having to wait a year.
Zamasu wished to trade bodies with Goku, becoming Goku Black. After that he killed Goku, Goten and Chichi.
Eventually, Black used the time rings to go meet his Future self, Future Zamasu, from Future Trunks timeline and they teamed up to kill all mortals and opposing gods in the future. All Kaioshin/Gods of destruction are dead and Goku Black+Zamasu are the only gods left in F.Trunks future. That is basically it.

Goku met Black before he met Zamasu. That means that Zamasu already became Black and put on the time ring, which made him unaffected to changes to the timeline.

Going to the future makes things happen, but it usually doesn't matter because you can go back and they will be "undone", at least in your perception. The time ring bypasses all of that, they can crush Zamasu's egg-fruit and Black will still exist.

Describing why the TPCi dub is worse than ever lately & why it's always been severely flawed in general in a nutshell:

- None of the voice acting is fitting or tolerable, especially Alain & Talonflame. Ash & TR still sound awful even after a decade of the same voice cast, too. This has been a problem with their dub from the start in Season 9, but the fact that it's gotten even worse over time, is a glaring flaw.

- The dub script has countless stupid rewrites and the same 60 year old man has been adding in his idea of "humor" via unfunny slang, rhyme, alliteration, puns, catchphrases, etc. since Season 9 when while the rest of the old 4Kids cast got the boot because they were too "expensive," the man got to jump ship along with only one other actress, and his writing got worse with time, notably with Team Rocket & Ash's dialogue. This would be James Cathcart, if you don't know who I mean already.

- The music replacement has gotten atrocious since Season 17 began, this episode being a perfect example of that. It's all elevator and UFO dub music by Ed Goldfarb except for the title card jingle, so only 1 of like 27 pieces of the OST was kept. That's abysmal.

- The refusal to update the title card after at least a hundred episodes now. Serena's old design is still there to this day.

I could go on all day, but the Pokemon English dub has gone very downhill over the years, with TPCi & DuArt to primarily blame for it.

Can Greninja appear again? Yes, and so any of his Kanto Mons can do it too. Or any of his lab Mons for that matter. But given the direction they want with the new series, the "closure" they gave to the frog, and the fact that it already did its marketing job in the anime already, it's unlikely it will appear again, even with its appearance in the games (which we still don't know what kind of purpose, if anything other than a glorified easter egg, it has). At least, not any more chance than any other of Ash's Mons.
