6 does look pretty bad in the promos but they also seem wildly inconsistent so maybe it'll actually be good? Who knows.

I'd probably put it between 2 and 4 though, right now.

I like the original Ash design because it perfectly matches his character in the show. He looks young, kind of stupid, and energetic. His design is colorful, but not ridculous. He looks like a stupid kid, which is perfect.

XY design looks like he's a bit older and more reserved which makes sense since he's been travelling the world with his Pokemon for years at this point. He should be a bit more mature even though he doesn't technically age.

DP design is solid. He looks a little older than in the original series and his out just looks okay. yep

I hate his RS design. That stupid shirt just makes his shoulders look too wide. His face looks younger than the oriignal series but the rest of him looks older. Everything just looks awkward.

BW design is just.... horrible. He looks so childish. His clothing is so garish looking. The blue/white sweatshirt with BRIGHT FUCKING YELLOW zipper looks ridiculous. The yellow stripe on Ash's DP design looks fine because yellow goes with with black. Yellow does NOT go with this shade of blue. He also looks even younger than the previous designs which doesn't make sense.

Alola design. I don't need to explain do I? Besides the obvious things people are saying, his pants look weird. Either the designers were going for that "wet diaper" look or he pulls his pants up way too high and shrank a few feet. Also capris look like shit on men. They should have just given him shorts. Who wears pants in a tropical region like Hawaii? Just wear shorts.
