The problem is that Pokemon has expanded to such a point that Gamefreak is now putting most of their focus on attempting to fill the now overstretched mold.

They either need to scrap most of what they're "Set up" and start new, or focus on where the games are suffering.

And now on top of being able to Mega Evolve once per battle, they've added something else we can only use once per battle, Z-Moves

Salandit, Mimikyu and Wimpod's evo are pretty well liked.

Gen 6 overall was very forgettable and milquetoast. Gotta give it props for introducing Noivern though, my all time favorite.
