It's not that they're targeting Talonflame for the nerfs, it's that Talonflame represents everything that is cancerous to the meta. High damage non-normal priority and good coverage on a fast Pokemon keep a lot of Pokemon from seeing play. Pokemon like Talonflame hard counters them forcing you to run counters specifically to deal with it.

All the complaints about Talonflame are probably the best indication that /vp/ barely knows anything about competitive. If you ask more experienced players anything they probably won't think Talonflame is broken, especially when there's way more broken or centralizing pokemon in whatever tier/format.
