There is Pokemon on Pokemon violence, but deaths actually aren't common. There's a lot of Naruto Jutsu-like shit that happens. Pokemon are actually substitutes, or gastly possessing zombies, or getting attacked was all according to Keikaku. Some deaths are fakeouts too, like the infamous Arbok being cut in half (might count as a retcon too, dunno how planned out Yellow arc was in the early days).

Expect actual deaths to be less common and treated poignantly and then be retconed later because REMAKES or "oh shit we killed like 3 people more than usual this arc". But in general there IS more violence, including human on human and Pokemon on human. People are gonna get scuffed up and a little bloodied at times. It's not as edgy as some people make it out to be though.

Arbok was weird in the manga, Turns out that you can train them to have magical markings, that have different effects.

I am not a shipper but I still ask myself if that scene was even necessary except for the author to sink N ship and promote his belove protagonistxprotagonist ship. It still kind of out-of-character for N and make his "chance of heart" a bit awkward.
Also they fuck up with starters. Senior Juniper's Samurott out-of-nowhere just to use the pledge move is fucking gold. While Bianca and Charen's starters got written off and forgotten.

Yeah, it's hard to tell what concepts were beta concepts for the pokemon that got used (Hitmonlee's spring legs and Charmander's back spikes) and which ones are just purely made up because RAD MANGA STORIES (Poliwhirl making freezing mist, Pikachu turning a substitute into a surfboard or attacking with the substitute, etc.). Arbok maybe having a Rorschach-esque adaptive marking ability could go either way.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was death in this manga, since it's all done for comedy and not to be taken seriously.
I THINK Clefairy at some point eats a pokemon, maybe a Magikarp, because he doesn't give a shit; this being a universe were every pokemon talks and is very anthropomorphic.

Where can I read the most recent chapters of the pokemon special.
There's so many different parts I dunno what's still going and what's finished based on the site I go too

I don't think BW2 is finished since the male is apparently some secret agent but it never continued afaik, BW1 I think is finished with black being stuck in the orb for now.

ORAS I checked just now and is apparently finished with 21 being the last chapter.
X/Y last time I read up on it was chapter 21 with pinsir looking over the horizon but haven't seen any other chapters since that one. (the site I go too also doesn't go past chapter 14, had to find other 7 chapters from a tumblr source translating em but they stopped at 21)

Crusification in general only exists so that they could publicly humiliate people before executing them. They did it to people other than Jesus, you know. Most Western countries switched to stockades, but Japan picked it back up for the sake of ironically punishing Christians. Then it just sort of evolved back into a generic punishment.

That's why you see it in anime so often. It carries the same imagery over there as putting someone in stocks does in the west.
