A lot of NFE designs and concepts are typically wasted when you effectively spend most of your time every gen using it's fully evolved form, with cross-generational alterations being the best in terms of execution.

Mimikyu has been hyped from the start though. Personally I think it's overrated. It gets so carried by its concept (which is not even deep to begin with) and the design isn't all that special. I really hoped they gave it a happiness evolution where it loses the costume because it would have been great in a narrative sense.

Not so much me, but when I was growing up we had a neighbor's cat hiding in our backyard underneath our shed. She was an outside cat we had primarily seen in their yard but she was terrified and they never went looking for her and got a new cat before moving out shortly after. We left her alone at first figuring she'd leave, but she'd stay there, only coming out at night to find food. We started luring her out with food hoping to catch her so we could take her in because we were worried she'd starve to death hiding under there, but she was wary of us and of doors. You could tells she was upset, and if you walked away while she was out in the yard and looking at you she'd meow softly to get your attention. Eventually after about 6 months she got comfortable enough to come out in the evening when we brought out food. She kept the mice and snakes away better than our dumb dog, so we just let her stay and took care of her. We noticed though that her tail had a crick in it near the end, which it hadn't before when she was the neighbor's cat. We took a picture into the vets and they concluded it was an injury where the tail must've been slammed in something, like a door. We also later figured her ribs were healed from fractures too, likely meaning she was kicked.

She eventually warmed up enough over the years to stand on the railing of the porch and swipe or nip at the back of our heads for ear scratches, but we couldn't touch any other part of her or she'd back off. She never scratched us, only backed off. Eventually we would leave a cushion out for her on the porch to sit on and sunbathe, and then put the cushion away at night, and she loved it.

About 4 years after she first appeared, my aunt left the cushion out for the night because the cat was sleeping on it at dinnertime. Either a neighborhood dog or a wild coyote came up on the porch and snapped her neck and left her in the ditch, with no bloodshed. We found her dead the next day. She was just starting to trust us unlike her shitty previous owners and not be scared anymore. At least she died quickly and without much pain. It still hurts a bit to think about after all this time that she never had a choice in her situation and only wanted to be loved but was afraid of trusting someone only to get hurt again.
