Well.. considering alolan meowth was selectively bred i.e. inbred its almost certainly what they were going for. I don't think there's a problem with how they executed it. The design makes it clear something is abnormal, especially after alolan meowth being more or less proportionally correct for a meowth.

I just explained how I believe it was done well. By having a normally proportioned precons and normally proportioned body compared to normal Persian, it's fucked up face becomes very clear and the intention of the design is very apparent. It looks stupid but that's the point. Can we not have things where the point is to look fucked up? A good designs purpose isnt necessarily to look aesthetically pleasing. There's now way to justify such a bad execution, regardless of how much the concept makes sense. I'm glad most pokemon are decent enough to not be a laughing stock, and I appreciate how hard the designers work, so things like this won't ruin the game for me. But shit is shit no matter how you try to excuse it, and the fact that I know they could do better with very little effort doesn't make me feel much better. They should be big enough to learn from their mistakes and I don't feel bad for pointing it out.
