There's a reason for that. HGSS Scyther is one of the most broken in-game Pokemon ever. It's up there with Magnemite, Riolu, and Starly.

HGSS Dratini still trumps them all, though.

Scyther/Scizor is one of my all-time favourites, thanks in large part to Gold. I wanna travel with my buddy again, not just wait until the end and breed the hell out of one and use it for a couple battles.
For ORAS my brother and I each chose a partner Pokemon for me to breed to perfection, that we'd then trade into the games as an Egg from XY so we'd have a favourite pal from the start who could be used for competitive stuff postgame, too. I took Aron and he took Carvanha.

Rest I dont even know about yet, but I can get most of my team before even leaving the first island. Mimikyu is an option and so is Grabrawler. Bounsweet also looks pretty great. But no matter what rest of the team is, the core of my team will be set really early, which I am happy about. Too often I had to wait until the 7th or 8th badge to get the final party members.

It could be a alternate but not likely. It's a teddy bear crab, a crab species that uses stinging anemones as weapons (which I assume those paws are supposed to be). It being crabrawler's version alternative makes some sense, crabrawler prefers showing his strength with his claws and crabominable essentially uses weapons.

But it being an evolutionary line makes sense and I'd rather have a usable fighting crab in the end game.
