Also, all of the previous Fire/Fightings gained the Fighting type in their second stage. Charizard and Delphox didn't get their secondary types until their final forms.

I don't think most people even realize the thing is clearly based on a specific really famous real life wrestler literally called Tiger Mask.

The gimmick is that it has always been based on a character from a long running anime about wrestling and has been handed down through various wrestlers. There is also a heel/rival version called Black Tiger.

But the fire starter seems specifically based off a design used by Tiger Mask.
