Smash uses very low quality versions of the fighter models when viewed from a distance, EG, when four fighters are on the stage at once. It also uses a lot of flat textures instead of models for decoration.

Also, the fighters animate at only 30 frames per second, with only the assist trophies hitting full 60, and even then only for a short time. (Though, I may be remembering that backwards.... I'd have to watch the trailer explaining that again.)

Pokemon models have much better quality. They're ridiculosuly good, given the shitty resolution the 3DS screen has. Maybe because they want to reuse them as much as possible in next games.

You've got it backwards. Fighters are 60, assists and Pokémon are 30.
