It looks nicer than I would've imagined. Slight hope for a Switch version!

They're only like that because the 3DS never zooms in on the background like it does to the Pokémon and trainer models.
If they ever intended for us to be able to see them in that much detail (keeping in mind the 3DS's screen is 240p), they'd texture it better.

They're sprites, created to be used at a waaay lower resolution. If they were to build a game up from scratch to run at this resolution, it'd look 1000x better.

That actually looked nice. As others mentioned, the grass was kind of bad, but the smooth models look really good.

I can't wait to see other pokemon in 1080p, especially the ones with more details like Wimpod's evo and Silvally.
