Whoever decided over at GF that the way to make Pokemon look good this gen was to place a priority on poly-count, clearly weren't accounting for hardware performance.
Dropping battle 3d in the new games just make sit embarrassingly apparent that they bit off more than they can chew, but are too invested now to pull out.

I have played it for a few hours. From a graphical point of view it is actually quite decent, but the gameplay is awful. The fighting is just a big gimmick and the monsters are not relatable at all.

If you are looking for a gimmicky JPRG, go for it. If you are looking for an alternative version of pokemon, you might want to skip this one.
