Anyone else feel that Sun/Moon looks like a mess of unfinished ideas? These look great in terms of design and functionality. But the actual alola forms we got are almost entirely trash and don't even make sense from a lore perspective.
Plus there's the new evil team. Team Skull, the first *literal* gang of inner city thugs. Saggy pants, backwards hat, etc. Now why would there be a stereotypical inner city gang on little tropical islands? That makes more sense for a large city. So shouldn't the evil team for Sun/Moon be fucking pirates? What's going on at GF to make these awful decisions?

Alola forms are such a good idea, but Game Freak really dropped the ball with the ones actually in the game. Only maybe 3 of the ones in the game are any good.

Some of these are pretty good.

Here is some other ideas for artists:

Redesign of Golem line to be made of volcanic obsidian, instead of a tazer.

Sundew Victreebel.

Palm fruit Pineco/Foretress.

Electric ray Mantine.

I feel like there has to be a native whale variant for Whalord or however it's spelled.

Hawai'i has native dragonflies and butterflies.

The concept of Island Gigantism/Dwarfism has not been played at at all as far as I can tell.

Honestly I don't know why they didn't do more alolan forms.

Honestly the fact that they're all gen one pokemon doesn't bother me, but they should've made much more of them alolan forms.

There are definitely pokes who don't need them, like the starters, pokemon with megas, or the eevee-line

But some shit deserved it. Anything with an alolan evo should have an alolan form.

Ekans/Arbok definitely deserves one. A sea snake and moral eel would be cool as fuck. Machop line should've been the surfer-themed ones, not fucking diglett, out of any pokemon.

But why the hell isn't there any sort of psyduck/golduck. The state bird of hawaii is a Nene, which is basically a canada goose in hawaii.

Back when Alolan Forms were first revealed (and before we knew about yeti crab, obviously) I had the idea of Slaking migrating up to the mountaintops for whatever reason (Predators? Lack of food? Don't really know), and abandoning its lazy ways due to needing to keep its body heat up or else it will freeze to death. Here's a rough sketch.

It could have been Ice/Fighting, and since it wouldn't have Truant, it could have maybe had a stat rebalancing. Or Defeatist.

Honestly Sudowoodo doesn't really need to adapt to Alola because it's meant to be a rock that pretends to be a tree. Maybe a design change to better look like the trees in Alola but that's it.

Another idea I had was Alolan Breloom, who would have taken to living in caves, becoming unaccustomed to physical fighting and becoming bioluminescent as a result of its new dark habitat, thus taking on a Grass/Electric type.
