I nearly dropped Pokemon after ORAS. I downloaded the demo with zero expectations, and I'm pretty content with how it fares so far.

My only hope is that the overworld cities in the full game will be less barren than Hau'oli in the demo version. An open-world expanse is fine, but walking around in an empty void can be lonely sometimes.
