"DUDE HAWAII LMAO"
Even Pokémon researchers don’t know why Diglett’s form changed in the Alola region. The people of Alola seem unconcerned by the question. Their guess: maybe it ate too many sweet and fluffy round wigs!

>This Pokemon was originally from Kanto, but dug under the sea floor to reach Alola. It is speculated that after eating fluffy pancakes, it mutated its DNA and made it grow hair.

Unable to withstand the harsh sun of the Alola region, the first Diglett's and Dugtrio's of the region started leaving underground all the time. Little did they know that you could find plenty of Aloe, the national plant of the region, in the ground of the region!
After prolonged contact with those plants, Diglett's have started to grow hair! These hair also allowed them to come out of the ground, protecting them of the sun.

Probably Rock type.
A shipment of Digletts were sent to the mountains. In order to adapt to the cold, the Digletts joined together and grew hair to keep their body heat contained between the three of them. The trios sung songs to pass the time, attracting the attention of females. Upon evolution, the Dugtrio now travel the region, spreading their songs and competing in music contests.

Digletts and Dugtrios in the alola region are quite a bit different than the ones in kanto. The alola forms often had poke their heads out to find food, since underground food was not abundant in the region. The normally nocturnal and cave dwelling Digletts and Dugtrios were often burned by the harsh sunlight of the alola region. They began to adapt to this by growing thicker hair over their body to block out the sun. Its fair color reflects a lot of light keeping them cool when poking their heads out. Moving through the ground builds a lot of stack in the thick hair however. the Dugtrios have adapted this as a self defense method, as well as a method for hunting food. They are able to discharge this static to stun prey. This has caused some problems as they would knock out power in towns when they accidentally dig to close to underground power lines.
>Type: Ground/Electric
>Ability: Static Cling- Pokemon cannot escape battle with Dugtrio. Does not affect ground types. (electric version of arena trap)
