Remember back in 2010 when people said Gen 5 had the worst Pokemon

Gen V was a real pivot in the design philosophy. You could tell they were really struggling in Gen IV, as it had some really inconsistent quality (some good, a LOT of bad). A lot of designs in IV were round and the coloring was going to shit. Gen V featured way bolder designs and was met with a more polarizing but overall positive response. It's probably the biggest change in Pokémon we've ever seen, so it's natural that there are a lot of strong opinions on it.

I've loved the Gen V designs since I first laid eyes on them, which was 2012 when I decided to get back into Pokemon. The Gen V games blew me away.

People loved the designs in 2010. It wasn't until XY came out that people started shitting on gen 5 in general.

BW2 felt like a complete game, and some more. The post-game was incredible. They're still my favorite games in the franchise.

It's hard to put into words but there's something not so complete with the 3DS games so far. I still have some hope S/M will be a step in the right direction though.

Since when is Gen V considered a good gen? There's a vocal minority on most Pokemon communities that about how amazing it was, but everyone else sees it for the trash that it is.

Gen 5 had a shitload of content, a shitload of new mons, and many of the new mons have fantastic designs (some of the best designs of the series).

Of course there's a lot of garbage (klink line, two of the three starter lines, my little pony, gothitelle line, the genies in both their forms, those terrible prairie dogs, etc.), but there're some fantastic designs mixed in with the bad (volcarona, scolipede, golurk, etc.)
