I'm 25, don't have a neckbeard and Charizard is my favourite Pokémon.

Personally I think most of the hate for Charizard comes from whiny neckbeards who are upset that their favourite isn't marketed as much as 'zard is. Like its an inoffensive design at worst, so that is the only real explanation for the amount of vitriol it inspires.

Its either that or some hipster mentality where for some reason people dislike being a fan of overly popular things, in order to maintain their autistic self-image as 'above' most other people.
