Hoopa's movie is very comparable to a Godzilla film. The fight scenes are great, and the action is sweet, but the plot is godawful, and the characters are forgettable. More than usual, at least. Don't try to follow it, don't try to work it into a larger canon, just enjoy it and move on.

I suggest delving into some fan art and daydreaming. It's more satisfying. In the meantime, this fellow ghost/psychic fan is happily awaiting new ghosts and psychic types.

Hoopa unbound is actually pretty cute in Amie.

The movie basically makes Hoopa look like the most fucking broken overpowered pokemon in existence. Even Arceus' movie didn't make God look this obscenely strong. Even more so when you realize it's pulling off the shit that it is with just a fraction of its power.
