Gentlemen, how do we fix gyms? Most towns I go to are either dominantly blue or dominantly red, with level 10 gyms of the dominant color being unchanging for weeks. Collecting free coins every morning for doing fuckall isn't exactly the point of a walking simulator. It's not fun for people of the dominant color since they can't reinforce level 10 gyms further (so if they're not in these level 10 gyms they can't benefit from them), and it's not fun for the other two teams because taking down level 10 gyms takes ages and tons of potions.

There are a few possible options, I guess.
-Lower the level cap for gyms to 5. The barrier for taking down a level 5 gym is far lower, meaning that the other teams will be more inclined to take them over.
-Introduce coin rewards for taking down gyms of level 5 or higher. Offsets the potion cost, and makes the game more fun for people of teams that can't hold gyms for more than five minutes.
-Make it easier to take down a level 10 gym. For example, boost the prestige loss if you take down a Pokémon with one that has less CP than the defending Pokémon, like with gym training.

Rallying is the only fair thing I can think of. Forts should be forts and no single user should be able to trash them (without at least notable effort).

Best way is to use team effort to take it down. The team is there, it's just not coordinated. So, increase the incentive, either by making teaming up easier, or by increasing the reward.

1. Allow in-game somehow to call for help on a gym. Perhaps limit it to once per 72 hours. This places an icon above the gym signaling someone is going to attack it in the near future (15-30 mins). Would encourage others to assist since they're not tearing it down alone.
1. a, other than a notice "i'm going to attack this gym soon", perhaps add a small increased reward for participation.

2. The longer a gym remains under the possession of one team, the more rewards stack for taking it down. Keeping a gym for too long is a hot potato. Gym must remain under another team for 5 hours at least for the stacks to reset.

3. Higher tier defenders are just worth more, not just the reigning champion. on a 10 level gym, to get to rank 3 champion, you have to go through multiple pokemon. Why should he be worth the same as the first defender? Have a multiplier of dust and xp reward so lv 10 gyms are gold mines worth the hassle.

I'm sure this has already been touched on, but what are those two circles that show up at the top during the start of a wild Pokemon encounter??

Taking down gyms is much harder now. Training was made easier and they decreased meds drop rates big time.

So those little medals for catching the same type of pokemon over and over give you a little bonus for catching those Pokemon types.

But I guess that a good way to make them less stagnant would be forcing the player to go to the gym and feed the pokemon berries or some new food items every couple of days.
Give a food meter to each pokemon, if the bar falls below 50%, it'll get increasingly weaker and when it falls to 0% the pokemon will return to the trainer.

As a city player, even I think this would be unfair. On a typical taxi ride for me, I can hit 60+ Pokestops. Being able to load up on Pokeballs so easily is one thing, but I'd feel bad for less urban players who can't get the "premium" items for free so easily.

Maybe one more out-there idea is to give "levels" to Pokestops, and the more isolated a Pokestop is, the higher level it is. So a town with one Pokestop, it would be level 10, and a city with five Pokestops per block would be mostly level 1. They'd give the same items, but higher-level Pokestops would give more items, EXP, and a higher chance of a rare drop.

Just a thought, feel free to tell me it's a shitty idea.

They supposedly fixed some if not all of the gym memory leaks.

But now they broke scrolling in the gym roster so every time you swipe, it slides the next one onto your screen immediately instead of the gradual swipe that used to be there. Also the game freezes up every few seconds for me like as if the memory leak is still there so they probably hacked in a quick fix and probably won't bother with it for a while.

Bots are at maximum exp gain over time, putting a time limit for 16 hours just means they bot for 16 hours and stop while normal players like me who can't play for 16 hours straight a day will never catch up.

I did it when all the mystic botters gave up/got kicked.
We fighted for the same place every day, I saw the same 2 names every single day (literally 1 person per team), they eventually gave up and out of nowhere I got some instinct backup, also some level 33 botfag put a dragonite so that was really useful, even if I get kicked all I have to do is keep him alive.

During gym battles, when you dodges an opponent's attack (charge attack for best 'bug' results), you sometimes initially got hit fully by the attack then rolledback to a dodged damage after a few seconds.
Scenario: Exeggutor offense (100%hp) vs Vaporeon defense (100%hp):
1. Vaporeon(100% hp) used Hydro Pump
2. Exeggutor(100%hp) dodged
3. Exeggutor(50%hp) -> As if the dodge failed
4. Exeggutor(90%hp) -> Server realizes that the Hydro Pump was dodged, correct the HP

BUG:
Given the scenario above, when Exeggutor dodges but initially got full damage from Hydro Pump and it dies, the game will switch to the next pokemon. When the server realizes that the attack was dodged, it will return the first pokemon to the battle but it still shows the dying animation

Scenario: Exeggutor offense (100%hp) vs Vaporeon defense (100%hp):
1. Exeggutor and Vaporeon hits each other with fast moves
2. Exeggutor(40%hp), Vaporeon(20%hp)
3. Vaporeon(20%hp) used Hydro Pump
4. Exeggutor(40%hp) dodged [damage should only be ~10%hp]
5. Exeggutor dies
6. Next pokemon automatically selected (Snorlax 100%hp)

Before some updates ago I had 100% of success doing it multiple times as long as I erased every Eevee and eevolution name, reseted the game and gave it some time to update the data just to be sure. Them it stoped working 100% but I have the impression I still get more Vaporeons than 33.3% as it should be. It could be just normal variation or it could have some other variable I'm not aware of. I assume the game doesn't have a counter to determine if you already used the trick or not so it must use some other information to decide if you already used the trick. At that level you should bump into 500+ Evee fairly often and have enough candies/stardust to evolve and pump a couple of them to 1750+.
