Team Skull's ridiculous gesturing is what makes them so endearing.

They're a bunch of fucking losers, but there's charm to it. They even do it (slightly slower) in battle. Combined with their cheesy theme song, and they're great.

Too bad their teams will 99% consist of Zubats, Alolan Grimers and Rattatas, Koffings, and possibly Poochyenas. Maybe Alolan Meowth as well.

When even NPCs treat them like a minor annoyance you know they'll be hilarious bastards. I can't wait for Gladion and Plumeria to be the only competent members constantly fixing the shit Guzma and the grunts put them through.

They're already my favorite "evil" team and I still have hope that any of those early theories about how the part they'd play in-game becomes true:

I know it's probably cheesy but I'm a sucker for goofy villains.
