Yeah, but how can it take on a boxing stance if the structure of the elbows prevent its forearms from rotating forwards? Its not even a problem of the artwork because the 3D model is also like that. Its weird stiff arms look more like they were made for digging, like a bulldozer, which is why I'm dissapointed that its not steel-type.

Yes that was exactly what I was thinking. Theyre scales with the intent of looking like premature stages of the scale to feather change. Its a neat little detail that adds more complexity and character to the pokemon, making it seem more realistic and plausible. Plus the obnoxiously bright coloring can also be explained, similar to the mechanism many animals use to portray that they are threatening
