To those of you having probelms booting into the game since the recent update, from what I can tell, Niantic found a way to discover root on a phone on a deeper level to bypass the magidisk method. Pokemon Go can now detect if there's a custom recovery installed on the phone so you're probably going to have to reinstall the original firmware to get back into the game.

So the tweaks to training are meant for, what, allowing people who don't have right pokemon for the job to throw a handful of assorted trash at the first defender and net the 1k prestige?
Fair enough, but it means you only want to use the one pokemon to train a gym you have to select 5 other CP lowbies that you don't even intend to use each time.

Nobody knows. Some people think it's +3% because the italian version said 3% but in that same version, they mistranslated potions to say 20% so it's unreliable. There's a couple standing theories like:

I believe spending money on a game youre playing with friends or significant other is fine, cheap after work activity. It doesn't cost much to buy incubators and if youre having fun it's worth it. Hell I had a great Friday night with my gf playing and taking gyms, I didn't spend money but if I had to it would paled in cost in comparison to going out to a bar that night with other friends.

That said, you have to watch your microtransactions and wasting money on things you dont need. A 5km hatch gives u maybe 1200 dust on average, that's the same as catching 12 Pokemon. While u get candies, 80% of the time its a not want for me now that I have the dex entries.

I could have saved a few bucks over the last week if I went the literal extra mile walk to other gyms.

Depends on location. Was in SF yesterday. Every, and I mean EVERY, gym along Embarcadero (and the diagonal route on Columbus that I took to get back to downtown) gym was owned by bots.

The SF bot behavior is that the gym cycles red/yellow/blue, it takes under 10-20 seconds for the first 3 free pokes to be inserted to get the gym to L3, and about a minute for the gym to be leveled back down to zero by the bots from the "opposing" teams. The gym is repopulated just as quickly and taken down just as quickly. The behavior is unchanged, 24/7, regardless of how many humans are (or are not) walking within range of the gym. If it were human, there would at least be moments when a gym got prestiged to level 4, or there would be gaps between battles/cycling teardown behavior. The cycle takes about two minutes; just enough time for the bots to run through the thee battles for 3000+2500+500 prestige.

Not bad for extra XP if you're camping a lure; you can get the full XP for the battle by joining the robots' side and take about a third of the expected damage because you know you'll always have two robots doing damage on your behalf. But the gym game in bot-infested areas is utterly unplayable unless you want to limit yourself to a one-time snipe for 10 coins a day.

They likely did seeing as my J7 couldn't log into the game at first after the recent update, I either kept getting a failed to connect error or my device isn't supported error even when I did a full unroot but didn't remove the twrp recovery. Then I fucked up by turning the developer options off which gave me the "custom binary blocked by frp lock" error and I had to reinstall the original firmware which removed it. Now I can boot into the game again.
