>Instead we ended up at a local school, where there were more tutorial-like antics to be had and a series of pokémon battles with some fairly competent trainers.
H-happening? Are we finally getting somewhat of a challenge?
Depends how good are the people playing it?

Nope.

Nope.

no.
The majority of the fanbase are either children or casuals who don't take the game too seriously.
For those of us who are experts, who have played the whole 20 years, who never left. the games will never be a challenge for us again.
Just look forward to the difficulty hacks that will come out a few months after release.

It's true I'm kinda disappointed with the rival, I hope he gets one hell of a team but man, after all these years of Pokemon, you don't know what type is effective against another?
As for the Pokedex, are you implying that Pokemon games weren't already fucking linear?

>Rival has only one Pokémon
How delusional are you? Please I'd like to know.
20 years they've picked the opposite and some rival battles were fairly tough because of it. Now you have an inherent advantage.

20 years and the first rival battle never had more than 1 Pokemon...except Hau, which inherently shits on Popplio players if the Pichu is fixed.

I mean how does being told type effectiveness bother you? If you're the type of player who wants a challenge, you probably already know type effects?

Reminder that the level system is gen 5 based
Aka the level difference between you and your opponent determines the exp, the higher you are the less exp you get

Type effectiveness is after the first encounter

A little worrying but I never have trouble with the first gym and besides reviewers play with all those optional features on.

It already had his type effectiveness in the battle that he had pichu, so it's obvious that you fight him once before
>>29077686
I believe it's after you use the attack. Similar to the Persona games. It just logs things for you like most RPGs.
>>29077350
that's just attention baiting. Don't think too much into it. They want to surf the rest of the hype wave.

the EXP thing is good though, right? It helps put a stop to "level 84 charizard destroys elite 4 while 5 level 10-30 HM sluts watch"
